Principal's Message

Drew CrandallDear Poulsbo Elementary Families

I am excited to welcome you to the 2017-18 school year! For those of you returning to us, welcome back. For those of you new to our school community, I think you will find Poulsbo Elementary to be an extraordinary place for your child to learn.

First of all, I would like to introduce myself. While this is my first year as the Poulsbo Elementary Principal, I have been in education for over twelve years as an elementary school teacher, instructional coach and assistant principal in Seattle, Renton, and North Kitsap. My wife and I have two young children, a two-year-old and a first grader. I’m sure you will see my family at school events throughout the year.

The goal of Poulsbo Elementary is to provide a safe and welcoming learning environment for your student. To do this, we need your help. When coming on campus to volunteer or visit, please always enter through our front doors and sign-in at the front office. This important safety measure allows us to know who is on campus at any given time. Please take a moment to read the parent handbook on our website for more about our school’s policies. And, as always, if you have any questions or concerns please feel free to reach out to me.

Important upcoming dates:

  • August 30 from 5pm-7pm is our Back to School BBQ. This will be a time to meet your teacher, drop off school supplies and have dinner with our community.
  • September 6 is the first day of school for 1-5 graders.
  • September 11 is the first day of school for Kindergarteners.
  • October 25-27 are the dates set aside for conferences.

A full school year calendar can be found online at

I look forward to a wonderful year of growth and learning!

See you on August 30th,

Drew Crandall
